The original impetus for the Fulcrum Group of Companies to develop EarAngel came from the need to protect Operators receiving emergency calls on behalf of the Emergency Services. The Operators were regularly subjected to unacceptably high levels of noise, such as fire alarms.

This not only made it difficult to hear vital information being relayed by the caller, but also exposed the Operators to the risk of hearing damage.

Based on advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology, EarAngel is a Digital Noise Limiter designed to protect the Headset User. Although EarAngel is extremely sophisticated in what it does, it has been designed to be very simple and straightforward for the user.

EarAngel is compatible with most headset makes and models.

EarAngel continuously limits received Noise levels to 85dB.

For simplicity and user convenience, the downloading of this information and the future upgrading of software are done via a serial port.

The microphone output can be easily adjusted, allowing the user to compensate for different levels on different systems.

EarAngel has a window containing a LED power on indicator and a display indicating the headset configuration selected.

This same display will show an illuminated ‘HI' sign to indicate when EarAngel is actually having to restrict the level of incoming signals .

The power supply is incorporated into the 2.1mm power plug .
